Social Housing Finance Corp., the lead government agency tasked to implement socialized housing for low-income earners, announced Tuesday a three-month moratorium on the payment of loan amortization of its partner-homeowners from March 16, 2020 to June 16, 2020.
The moratorium is SHFC’s answer to the call of President Rodrigo Duterte to exhaust all efforts to respond to the needs of Filipinos amid the threat of COVID-19 in the country.
The agency said it will not charge penalties on accounts whose due dates fall within the period.
The loan reprieve followed the advisory released by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development after President Rodrigo Duterte placed the entire Luzon region under enhanced community quarantine.
SHFC is one of the key shelter agencies under DHSUD. Partner-homeowners who want to pay their loan amortization on time can do so in select branches of Land Bank of the Philippines across the nation.
