Miado patiently waiting for next move

Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado believes it pays to be ready as he waits out the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines.

Though he wants nothing more than to get a fitting follow-up to his first-round flying knee KO win over Miao Li Tao at ONE: AGE OF DRAGONS last November, Miado has no choice but to be patient as the world battles this pandemic.

“I know we’re facing something big in COVID-19, and all I can do now is stay focused on my goals. I still want to ride on the momentum of that big win last November,” Miado said.

“I’m so excited to show a better version of me, someone who’s more versed in the ground game with new tools and strategies in striking.”

Luckily for Miado, ONE Championship will still be holding events, albeit in a closed-door setting in Singapore for at least the next four events.

Should the pandemic be contained in the next few months, ONE could return in front of a live audience on 29 May at the Mall Of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines for ONE INFINITY 1.

“I know that health should be prioritized right now. But if we successfully defeat this virus, I hope to be included in the Manila card on 29 May. It’s been more than a year since I Iast competed in front of my countrymen.”

Miado’s 2019 started in the loss column when he got finished by former ONE Strawweight World Champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke at ONE: CALL TO GREATNESS

Now that he got himself back on the winning track, “The Jaguar” hopes to make himself a major player in the division with another head turning performance.

And for him, there is no better place to announce his arrival than in the strawweight division.

“I believe that’s the perfect event for me to pick up on what I did in Beijing,” Miado said.

“Now I am focused on training and getting better. If they offer me a slot on 29 May, I wouldn’t think twice in saying yes.”
