All rugby competitions and activities have been postponed until April 18.

The Philippine Rugby Football Union is doing this in consideration of the current situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The PRFU recognizes the importance of ensuring the health and safety of the entire rugby community, particularly our players, teams, officials, staff, families, and spectators. In turn, the PRFU have decided to ensure the spread of the virus is contained at any cost,” said PRFU head of administration Lorena Baclagon in a statement.

Among the competitions that have directly been affected include the 2020 JML Luzon Cup, the PRFU Premiership Shield and the Santos Knight Frank Junior Festivals.

Baclogan added that all regional events sanctioned by the PRFU outside Luzon will be contacted by the PRFU directly.

“Philippine Rugby will continue to assess the effects and spread of the COVID-19 on a regular basis,” added Baclagon.
