The community quarantine imposed in Metro Manila starting March 15 has canceled many a travel plan of those living in the region.
Heartbreaking still is that the one-month quarantine falls on this year’s holy week—a precious time for many who only have these few days of absolute rest (as in no work) in a year.
But we as citizens have the responsibility to take care of ourselves and be mindful of others’ welfare. So while it is disappointing to be stuck in the city, it’s better than putting each other at risk.
Aside from taking advantage of these days reading books, doing chores, or binge-watching, we can still enjoy the sunny season by using this month-long quarantine to plan our next vacation or quick getaway in the city.
