Showbiz and gentlemen

It was a special event for Beautéderm on Tuesday as it introduced actors Arjo Atayde and Carlo Aquino giving their seal of approval to a set of new products developed and created especially for men.

Apart from the usual questions about the patented line, Arjo and Carlo were asked about their personal romantic affairs including their plans to settle down with their respective partners. Arjo has a high profile relationship with Maine Mendoza while Carlo keeps a private affair with his non-showbiz girlfriend.

“It’s my love story,” was Arjo’s quick and sweet response.

“I’m 34, I’m not getting any younger,” was Carlo’s short yet meaningful response.

While both actors were repeatedly asked if they’re ready to tie the knot or if they’re still have other plans before deciding to walk down the aisle, Arjo and Carlo kept their cool and behaved like true gentlemen.

“Part of our mission as a brand is to have ambassadors who can really represent the company well. Arjo and Carlo endorse our products as if their names are on the line. Their personality and image complement our products really well,” Rhea Anicoche-Tan, president and CEO of Beautéderm Corporation, told Manila Standard in an interview.

Carlo was united with his fellow male Beautéderm ambassador Arjo in the official mainstream launch of the brand’s newest line of products collectively called Spruce & Dash. The products under Spruce & Dash men’s line are all FDA Notified and it consists of five essential products that men need and must have for their daily grooming.

The unprecedented success of Beautéderm’s products in the market, all of which are consistent recipients of the Superbrands award, spawned the creative idea of the Spruce & Dash men’s line which was conceptualized by its president and CEO. 

Tan coined the collection’s name based on their basic definitions with spruce being “neat in dress or appearance” and dash being “impetuous with flamboyant vigor and confidence.”

Spruce & Dash includes Beau Charcoal Soap; Hugh Shaving Cream; Brawn Anti-perspirant White Spray for both foot and underarms; Charcoal Charmer Detoxifying Peel-off Mask; and Lad Hair Pomade.   

Carlo, being one of today’s busiest and most sought-after, award-winning young dramatic actors who is currently part of the ensemble cast of ABS-CBN primetime series A Soldier’s Heart as Abraham “Abe” Kamlun, reveals that it is absolutely vital to take care of his skin and personal hygiene especially with his very hectic schedule.

“I face a lot of people every day at work and it’s important for me not only to look good but to feel good as well,” said Carlo. 

Meanwhile, After a delivering powerhouse performance on ABS-CBN’s primetime action-drama series The General’s Daughter last year where he seamless breathed life to the role of Elai and his current breathtaking role on the limited mini-series 24/7, which recently piloted on ABS-CBN, Arjo is widely considered as one of the most versatile and best dramatic actors of the industry today.

Arjo’s talent as an actor coupled with his dashing good look makes him a force of nature to be reckoned with in the Philippine Entertainment Industry and he proudly credits Beautéderm’s Spruce & Dash collection for his youthful glow.
