The survey also revealed that more of the women polled preferred brains over body than men.

Eighty-three percent of the women polled said they were more attracted to a person’s brains than his body, which was slightly higher than the 78 percent among men, SWS noted.

The proportion of those who preferred brains over body was highest among women with live-in partners at 89 percent, followed by single women at 82 percent and married women at 81 percent.

It hardly varied among men by civil status, ranging from 77 percent to 79 percent.

Meanwhile, the same survey showed that those polled wanted good health over love and money.

The respondents were asked: “If you could have only one of the following, which would you pick: money, health or love?”

To this, 70 percent chose health, 23 percent picked love and 7 percent preferred money.

Compared to the December 2002 survey, the preference for health rose by 16 points, while the preference for love and money fell by 12 points and 4 points, respectively.

The poll also revealed that more women of those polled were inclined to choose health over love and money (72 percent) than men (67 percent).

Among women, the proportion of those who preferred health was highest among those who were married at 76 percent, followed by those with live-in partners at 72 percent and those who were single at 65 percent.

Among men, it was highest among those with live-in partners at 79 percent, followed by those who were single at 70 percent and those who were married at 63 percent.

On the other hand, the preference for love was highest among married men (30 percent) and women with live-in partners (23 percent).

The preference for money was highest among single men (8 percent) and single women (14 percent).

The December 2019 survey also found that 54 percent of the respondents believed their love lives were “very happy,” while 32 percent said it “could be happier.”

Since 2002, around half of the adult Filipinos polled were recorded to have “very happy” love lives, ranging from the record-low 46 percent in 2004 to the record-high 59 percent in 2011.

Happiness with their love life was highest among men and those who were married, according to SWS.

The survey found 60 percent of the men polled saying they were “very happy” with their love lives—higher than the 49 percent among women.

Married men and married women also had happier love lives compared to their single or with live-in partner counterparts, the results showed.

Among the men, the proportion of those with “very happy” love life was highest among those who were married at 72 percent, followed by those with live-in partners at 64 percent and those who were single at 26 percent.

The SWS poll was non-commissioned and had a sampling error margin of ±3 percent for national percentages.
