Private hospitals support medical aid

Private hospitals from various provinces of CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) pledged their support and acknowledged the need to provide medical assistance to qualified beneficiaries of the Department of Health’s Medical Assistance for Indigent Program.

This is through a Memorandum of Agreement signed Wednesday by various chiefs of hospital in the region.

Regional Director Eduardo Janairo said this was a manifestation of the slogan “All for Health Towards Health for All” as more private hospitals come into the fold.

This only means more options for patients seeking consultation or rehabilitation to go to and select the health facility of their choice.

“This will also redound to a more improve service delivery network and help address health inequities by providing more access to healthcare and reducing the financial burden of out-of-pocket expenses by patients,” he said.

Through the MOA, private hospitals shall provide and administer the appropriate treatment to qualified indigent patients including those vaccinated by “Dengvaxia” with all their expenses to be shouldered by the DOH regional office for the medical services rendered to a qualified beneficiary.

Janairo also assured private hospitals that payments from their services rendered to MAIP and Dengvaxia patients shall be paid straightaway.

“We will process payments immediately within the week once we received your notice.”

The partnership with private hospitals ensures the effective and efficient implementation and strengthening of the service delivery network through strategies and activities that would address the prevailing burden of various diseases in the country.

The MOA signing is pursuant of the government’s health agenda to attain the best possible health outcomes for Filipinos with no disparity.

The event was attended by more than 100 private hospitals in CALABARZON region. Macon Ramos-Araneta
