A showdown between boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor is now close to happening.
This was after Paradigm Sports Management announced on that it has added the Filipino boxing legend to its stable.
The Paradigm stable includes Universal Fighting Championships stars McGregor, Israel Adesanya, and Cris Cyborg.
In a statement, Pacquiao said he is proud of having partnered with the outfit.
“I am proud to partner with Paradigm Sports Management and am excited for the opportunities that [Paradigm president and CEO] Audie Attar and PSM have to offer,” said Pacquiao.
Because of this, the possibility of the Irish star meeting the eight-division world champion is now gaining momentum.
Pacquiao, an eight-division champion is on a three-fight winning streak after knocking out Lucas Matthysse and outpointing Adrien Broner and Keith Thurman.
Paradigm Sports Management, founded by Audie Attar, said he is now ready to work with Arnold Vegafria, Ping Nepomuceno, Attorney Brando Viernesto, and Jayke Joson, on a fight schedule.
And McGregor had expressed interest in fighting the Filipino boxer in the soon-to-be-built Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
“I would be honored to be a part of that event. I would love to be the first combatant to fight in that arena. What a fight that would be against Manny. A small, powerful southpaw. I’d have to figure out the weight and these type of things,” said McGregor
McGregor last went into boxing when he fought American boxer, Floyd Mayweather, back in 2017.
Back then, Mayweather won the match, which was dubbed as “The Biggest Fight in Combat Sports History.”
Mayweather won it via technical knockout in the 10th round.
