Talitay, Maguindanao Mayor shot dead

The mayor of Talitay town in Maguindanao was shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Malate, Manila on Monday night, police said.

The Manila Police District identified the victim as Mayor Abdulwahab Sabal.

Sabal sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the body causing his immediate death.

Sabal was shot in front of the Mannra Hotel in Quirino Avenue, Malate, when the incident happened.

Police  said that as soon as Sabal alighted his vehicle in front of the hotel, where he was about to check in, the gunmen  “shot the victim repeatedly” then fled the scene.

Initial investigation said that Sabal and his companions came from another hotel in Manila before the incident happened.
