My Furry Bestie

This corner features pets of animal lovers every week. We hope new owners and those thinking of getting a pet will be encouraged to be responsible “furparents” through these features. We also hope more people will be moved to be kind to animals when they read about the great relationship that can be created between humans and animals.

My Furry Bestie

CHINA is an eight-month-old rescued cat of Wenwen Tamayo.

“She came into my life when I visited a friend in Cavite. I was on my way home when this beautiful being looked at me. I couldn't resist,” Wenwen says.

“I took her home. I slipped her into my bag. She gladly gave in,” Wenwen adds.

“Now, China is eight months old and growing to be a healthy furbaby. She sleeps beside me and loves cat food and snuggles,” Wenwen shares.

SHADE  was  dragging one of her hind legs while crossing Blumentritt street when Sharon Bengson saw her.

“She almost got hit by a vehicle while crossing the street,” says  Sharon.

“I followed her, then carried her home,” Sharon shares.

“I felt really bad seeing her dragging her leg. Sabi ko, alagaan kita. Hindi mo na kailangan maghanap ng pagkain and matulog sa kalsada,” Sharon recalls.

(I told her, “I’ll take care of you. You won’t have to look for food and sleep on the streets.”)

“I brought her to the veterinary clinic and gave her vaccines and vitamins.. Yung leg nya, ganun na daw, sabi ng vet,” Sharon adds.

Shade, now one year old,  loves cat food and fish. She sleeps with Sharon too.

“I love her to bits,” Sharon says.
