The Energy Regulatory Commission allowed state-run National Transmission Corp. (TransCo) to collect from consumers a feed-in tariff (FIT-All) allowance of P0.0495 per kilowatt-hour for calendar year 2019.
The regulator issued a statement on Tuesday that it approved a lower FIT-All compared to the application of TransCo.
“The ERC-approved 2019 FIT-All is lower by P0.1976 per kWh vis-à-vis TransCo’s proposed rate of P0.2471, and will reflect a P0.1731 per kWh reduction from the current (2018) FIT-All rate of P0.2226/kWh,” ERC chairperson and chief executive officer Agnes Devanadera said.
The FIT-All mechanism was established pursuant to the Renewable Energy Act of 2008, which aims to spur the development of emerging renewable power sources such as wind, solar, run-of-river hydro and biomass facilities.
The FIT-All is a uniform charge in peso per kWh payable by all electricity users and is calculated and set annually.
Distribution utilities, grid operator National Grid Corporation of the Philippines and retail electricity suppliers serves as collecting agents.
