The Philippine Economic Zone Authority is looking for partners to build a P3-billion mixed-use building set to rise behind the proposed new PEZA building along Roxas Boulevard.
PEZA director-general Charito Plaza said the second building behind PEZA tower would be 33-stories high and could house IT companies and other offices with provision for commercial spaces for lease.
“We are still looking for a joint venture (JV) partner for the 33-storey building. It will be mixed-use but we will never allow POGO operators to lease space from us,” she said.
The building will be constructed behind the soon-to-rise PEZA building, a 13-story edifice with a floor area of 14,000 square meters.
“We have to be resourceful. We don’t have the money to spare for the construction that is why we are also looking for partners for the JV. We have been self-reliant right from the start,” Plaza said.
PEZA’s head office is currently located in four buildings within the Energy Department complex, making it difficult for employees to interact with each other.
