Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor chairperson and chief executive officer Alvin Feliciano on Sunday vowed to pursue the implementation of “Oplan Likas” program as part of the agency’s mandate to serve as the direct link between the government and the poorest of the poor communities.
In 2019, 1,050 beneficiaries have received financial assistance of P18,000 each, he said.
Feliciano said that the relocated beneficiaries have been “validated by PCUP’s area coordinators to really locate the deserving beneficiaries of the program.”
The program is an initiative of the Department of the Interior and Local Government with help from PCUP to extend financial aid to residents along the waterways affected by eviction and demolition way in 2013 until 2016.
