Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with its five dealers namely Union Motor Corporation, Fast Autoworld Philippines Corporation, Motorplaza Inc., SFM Sales Corporation and Mindanao Integrated Commercial Enterprises Inc. under the witness of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC). This partnership aims to roll out a next-generation Showroom – Dendo Drive Station in the Philippines.
The Dendo Drive Station features solar power system and vehicle to home (V2H) equipment. This system allows to charge Electric Vehicles (Evs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) at the showrooms as well as to supply electricity from EVs/PHEVs back to the showrooms. Since MMC opened the first one in Tokyo in 2016, it has opened 79 Dendo Drive Station showrooms throughout Japan.
With MMC’s support, MMPC aims to open DENDO DRIVE STATIONs in 5 regions in the Philippines and introduce the OUTLANDER PHEV***, MMC’s flagship PHEV SUV to the Philippines by the end of 2020. It aims to promote better understanding of EVs/PHEVs in the country and support the development of the country’s automotive industry and the local economy.
“Similar to Japan, the Philippines is a country that often experiences many natural disasters,” said Osamu Masuko, MMC’s chairman of the board. “I believe with the technology of the DENDO DRIVE STATION, communities will be provided with a dependable self-sustaining power source that does not only generate efficient energy supply but also serves as a reliable electrical source during emergency power shortage.”
