National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin on Wednesday vowed to bring justice to the 12-year-old boy killed by a suspected “Good-bye Philippines” firecracker in Manila.
Aberin said he ordered a full investigation and confirmed that authorities have identified two persons of interest in the case.
He said those who lit and left the firecracker could face a murder charge, depending on the outcome of the investigation and the established timeline of events.
Aberin added that Metro Manila has recorded one death and 27 injuries linked to firecrackers since the start of the holiday season.
He said the Manila Police District is backtracking CCTV footage and looking into the possible involvement of a barangay official to identify those responsible.
