The Manila Chinatown Charity Foundation held a Christmas gift-giving event on Dec. 7, 2025.
Aside from the regular free medication, the group distributed 500 bags of rice, each containing 5 kilograms, to patients and nearby marginalized residents.
Manila City District 3 councilor Jefferson Lau and Senator Imee Marcos participated in the event and brought toys and bread for the children.
Founded in 1986, the Manila Chinatown Charity Foundation is dedicated to providing free medication every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., assisting and treating over 20,000 patients annually.
According to its executive director Dr. Xu Huan Ran, the foundation’s commitment to service over the past 41 years has established it as a pillar of the Filipino-Chinese community, known as the “Filipino Chinese Community Three Treasures.”
With their expertise, the foundation continues to save lives and provide essential healthcare to those in need.
