The Manila’s District 3 hosted a charity event “Pamaskong Handog ng Councillor Jefferson Lau” on Dec. 19, 2025 at Plaza San Lorenzo Ruiz in Binondo.
The initiative garnered support from various associations within the Filipino-Chinese community, raising 12,000 bags of rice, each weighing 5 kilograms.
The bags of rice were distributed to thousands of underprivileged families to alleviate their hardships during the holiday season.
Manila District 3 councilor Jefferson Lau said local government employees, including members of the police and fire brigade units, would also receive bags of rice from the initiative as recognition for their dedicated service to the community.
The event underscores the commitment of the Filipino-Chinese community to giving back to society and fostering harmonious relationships between Filipinos and Chinese, especially during the festive season.
