CIDG nabs female NPA leader in Butuan City

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Sunday reported that they arrested a 26-year-old female member of the New People’s Army.

In a statement, CIDG chief Maj. Gen. Robert Alexander Morico II said the suspect, identified as alias Jai, of Purok 1, Brgy Farmbugas, Claveria, Misamis Oriental is a member of the Medical Unit of Sandatahang Digma Group Samsung, Guerrilla Front Huawei, Sub-Regional Committee 1 (SR-1), North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC).

She is listed in the AFP’s Periodic Status Report (PSR).

Morico said the Jai was arrested on Dec. 23 in a manhunt operation in Brgy. Bancasi, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte by virtue of an arrest warrants for the crime of rebellion issued by the Gingoog City Regional Trial Court (RTC) and for and alleged violation of Section 4(c) of Republic Act No. 9851 (Act on Crimes Against International Humanitarian Law, Genocide, and Other Crimes Against Humanity) issued by the Cagayan De Oro City RTC dated February 28, 2022.

The CIDG said the suspect also was suspected of complicity in several violent activities and alleged terroristic acts in Claveria, Farmbugas, and Lagonglong, Misamis Oriental, including the burning of two ten-wheeler trucks owned by Del Monte Philippines in Brgy. Don G. Pelaez, Claveria, Misamis Oriental in 2017.

Morico lauded the CIDG Regional Field Unit 10 and CIDG Lanao Del Norte Provincial Field Unit and joint units for their successful operation.

“Rest assured that the CIDG is steadfast in implementing the laws and committed in accounting and capturing all criminals, wanted persons and fugitives across the country,” said Morico.
