The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) confirmed Thursday that law enforcement authorities arrested the suspect behind the gruesome killing of two security guards inside a car dealership in Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2025.
Based on police interrogation, the suspect—also a security guard—claimed the victims had bullied him, so he murdered them in cold blood. He was arrested in Tondo, Manila, according to NCRPO spokesperson Major Hazel Asilo. The suspect is facing two counts of murder with robbery.
Initial reports from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said the victims were reportedly sleeping inside the establishment when the suspect approached them and shot them at point-blank range.
A CCTV footage of the crime scene showed the suspect wearing plain clothes calmly entering the room where the suspects were sleeping at 12:48 p.m. He was holding a gun then opened fire at his defenseless victims who died on the spot.
Before committing the crime, the gunman allegedly told an employee of another car dealership in the area he intended to kill his colleagues and even asked him to be his accomplice, according to investigators.
Other witnesses confirmed to the police that the suspect had earlier mentioned his intention to kill someone and was allegedly asking for help to carry it out. Those who heard the statement allegedly did not take it seriously and did not think the suspect was referring to his own colleagues.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the bodies of the victims still lying on the sofa. The incident was reported at around 2 p.m., but investigation revealed that the shooting occurred about an hour before it was reported.
The QCPD also clarified that the victims were on duty when the crime occurred.
Authorities are also looking into the possibility that there was a drinking party inside the area, as police officers reportedly smelled the strong scent of liquor and found a bottle of brandy when they arrived at the car dealership.
