Light Rail Manila Corp. said Friday it will extend operating hours on select dates to provide more convenient and reliable transportation during the Christmas holiday season.
The private operator of LRT-1 announced the adjustments to serve commuters during the peak holiday rush between Dec. 18 and Jan. 1.
For the heavy travel days of Dec. 18, 19, 22 and 23, the last train will depart from Dr. Santos Station at 10:45 p.m. and from Fernando Poe Jr. Station at 11 p.m. This provides an additional 15 minutes of service compared to the regular schedule of 10:30 p.m. and 10:45 p.m.
During the weekend of Dec. 20 and 21, the company will extend operations by 45 minutes from the usual weekend schedule. The last train will leave Dr. Santos Station at 10:15 p.m. and Fernando Poe Jr. Station at 10:30 p.m.
The rail line will implement shortened operating hours on Dec. 24 in observance of Christmas Eve. The last train on that Wednesday will depart Dr. Santos Station at 8 p.m. and Fernando Poe Jr. Station at 8:15 p.m. On Christmas Day, hours will return to an extended schedule with last trips at 10:15 p.m. from Dr. Santos and 10:30 p.m. from Fernando Poe Jr.
The regular weekday, weekend and holiday schedule will resume from Dec. 26 until Dec. 30. For New Year’s Eve on Dec. 31, the LRT-1 will implement a shortened schedule with the last train departing Dr. Santos Station at 7 p.m. and Fernando Poe Jr. Station at 7:15 p.m.
