Joy-Nostalg unit delivers community support projects

Jin-Navitas Solaris Inc., the renewable energy arm of the Joy-Nostalg Group, officially turned over Community Assurance Support (CAS) projects to residents of Pasinaya Homes Prime Central in Naic, Cavite.

The event marked a milestone for the NING*NING model, a world-first initiative that generates grid-connected, utility-scale solar power through socialized housing rooftops. The program translates energy progress into direct, sustained support for the host community.

Implemented in partnership with Extraordinary Enclaves and the Joy-Nostalg Foundation, the initiative reinforces Solaris’ commitment to ensuring clean energy development creates shared value.

Under the NING*NING model, the CAS is a contract-anchored package of community benefits provided annually in exchange for rooftop use, enabled through a long-term usufruct agreement. It includes enhanced safety measures and community improvements, ensuring that while solar power feeds the grid, tangible value flows back to homeowners.

The ceremony marks the first turnover under a 50-year term.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. highlighted NING*NING as a model for advancing renewable energy alongside inclusive development during his recent visit to the site.

“This is our way of appreciation and of showing that we are serious,” said Jacinto Ng Jr., group executive officer of Joy-Nostalg Group. “This fulfills promises beyond contractual obligation. Our goal is not just returns, but bettering lives — here in the community, across the country and ultimately for the world.”

The CAS projects address priority needs identified by the community, including motorcycle patrols, radios, CCTV systems, and other safety enhancements, health and education–including daycare improvements, school supplies, and health center upgrades, and community and leisure–including clubhouse enhancements, play areas, and programs that strengthen community life.

Jose Alfonso Miras, president and chief executive of Jin-Navitas Solaris, emphasized that the model succeeds because homeowners are treated as partners.

“Without a grid-connected solar facility built on rooftops like this, especially in socialized housing, this scale of clean energy and community benefit simply wouldn’t happen,” Miras said.

Adrian Cantor, chief operating officer of Extraordinary Enclaves, said the project respects both people and place.

“On behalf of the homeowners, we sincerely thank Solaris for subsidizing the profitability of Pasinaya Homes,” Cantor said. “This ensures that the zero-equity affordability of owning a home remains sustainable.”

Terence Christopher Ang, chief executive of Joy-Nostalg Foundation, noted that the program enhances property values while strengthening the community.
