Rizal Green Energy Corp. said it started exporting 33.831 megawatts from its 40-MW Limbauan solar power facility in San Pablo, Isabela province to the Luzon grid on Thursday.
The power export followed the Dec. 17 release of a provisional certificate of approval to connect as a generator by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines.
The San Pablo-based plant previously completed its energization as a load facility on Nov. 24, 2025.
The Limbauan facility is the third project under the joint venture between PetroGreen Energy Corp. and Japan-based Taisei Corp. to supply the grid.
It follows the 27-MW Dagohoy solar plant in Bohol and the 19.6-MW San Jose solar plant in Nueva Ecija, which began commercial operations on July 16, 2025 and Aug. 1, 2025 respectively.
PetroGreen Energy Corp. vice president Maria Victoria Olivar said the company is pleased to start exporting power from the Limbauan solar phase 2 facility, which is a Green Energy Auction-2 qualified project.
Olivar said the milestone was achieved through cooperation between the Department of Energy, grid operators and local government units.
The company expects to energize the 6.006-MW Limbauan Phase 1 and the 25-MW Bugallon solar facility in Pangasinan in the coming weeks. Both projects were completed in November and are awaiting clearance from the grid corporation.
Once these remaining plants are energized, PetroGreen Energy will have 263 MW of utility-scale operational renewable energy facilities.
The company forms part of the Yuchengco Group of Companies, which continues to expand its footprint in the Philippine renewable energy sector.
