NAIA 3 deploys biometric e-Gates

The New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) is launching new passenger facilities at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 as part of its modernization program.

The company said in a statement key additions include the activation of biometric Immigration e-Gates and the opening of several new F&B areas: the All-Filipino Tambayan Food Hall, the Mezzanine Food Hall, and a new Dignitariea Lounge.

It said the modernization includes the deployment of 78 biometric Immigration e-Gates across NAIA in a phased rollout. Systems are already operational at Terminals 1 and 3, which handle international flights. Delivered and funded by NNIC as part of the airport modernization program, the rollout enables new technology to be implemented more quickly at the country’s main gateway.

The new system allows eligible passengers to complete immigration clearance in about 20 seconds, significantly easing congestion during peak travel periods. It streamlines processing by using biometric identity verification and document authentication while meeting the security requirements of border authorities. The platform is powered by Amadeus, a global travel technology company.
