A total of 53 jobseekers, out of 249 job applicants, were hired on the spot (HOTS) during the 2025 National Tech-Voc Day Job Fair held recently at Tagum City Hall, in support of the “Bagong Pilipinas” program under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration, which aims to ensure employment opportunities for every Filipino.

The job fair, led by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Davao del Norte, in partnership with TESDA Region XI, the City Government of Tagum, and the City Public Employment Service and Capability Development Office (CPESCDO), drew 249 participants, most of whom were graduates and alumni of Technical-Vocational Institutions (TVIs).

A total of 18 companies, from various industries including wholesale and distribution, construction, IT-BPM, manufacturing, and wholesale and retail, participated in the job fair offering jobs that matched the skills and qualifications of the applicants. Among those successfully hired was Bernalyn M. Casuno, who had been unemployed for nearly six months.

“I joined the job fair because I wanted to support myself and help my family financially. I felt so happy when I found out I was hired on the spot. Thank you so much for this opportunity,” Casuno shared.

Her story reflects the life-changing impact of the Tech-Voc Day Job Fair, which continues to provide meaningful employment opportunities to Filipino workers. The event was widely regarded as a success, with more job fair activities planned in the coming months to further support the government’s employment goals.
