Honda Philippines caps ‘breakthrough’ 2025 with over 12,000 sales

Honda Cars Philippines Inc (HCPI) concluded 2025 with over 12,000 units sold across its top models, marking a year of strong growth in electrified vehicles and the Philippine debut of the All-New Prelude hybrid coupe.

The company’s total sales volume exceeded 12,000 units, with the BR-V remaining the strongest performer, logging over 6,200 units sold. The City followed with more than 3,600 units, while the New HR-V and CR-V each surpassed 1,100 units, reflecting sustained demand for the core lineup.

HCPI president Rie Miyakeda called 2025 “a breakthrough year” in the company’s transition toward cleaner mobility, crediting Filipino customers for their increasing confidence in Honda’s electrified technologies.

Hybrid sales nearly doubled year-on-year, with combined volumes of over 1,600 units for the hybrid variants of the CR-V, Civic and New HR-V.

“Honda has always believed in providing mobility that brings joy to people’s lives. It has truly been our pleasure to cater to the varying needs of every Filipino,” Miyakeda said at the 2025 Honda Fest held Friday, where the All-New Prelude was unveiled.

Scheduled for local launch in 2026, the Prelude, returning as a sporty hybrid coupe, will feature Honda’s e:HEV full hybrid system and S+ shift system.

Miyakeda described the vehicle as delivering “an immersive, fun-to-drive experience in Honda’s sporty DNA.”

These gains, Miyakeda said, position HCPI for its next phase as it aligns with Honda’s global 2050 targets of carbon neutrality and a collision-free society.

By 2026, the company plans to offer four e:HEV models, all equipped with Honda Sensing technology.

In a move to enhance customer experience, HCPI also introduced the new Pro Honda line, starting with proprietary engine oil, and announced major updates to its dealer network effective Jan. 1, 2026.

The Gateway Group will take over Honda Cars Makati, Cebu, Negros and Cagayan de Oro, while the Borromeo Motoring Group will operate Honda Cars Bacoor, Pasig, Mandaue and Iloilo.

HCPI will also directly manage Honda Cars Shaw and expand its Visayas presence with Honda Cars Tacloban.

Miyakeda said these combined efforts reflect Honda’s enduring commitment to customer satisfaction as the company celebrates its 35th year in the Philippines and gears up for a fully electrified future.
