Displaced workers of Agrinanas Development Company, Inc. and Strellas Labor Service Cooperative received employment assistance and access to other government services through a simultaneous special job fair and a one-stop shop of government services spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment Northern Mindanao (DOLE Region 10), in partnership with the local government units of Talakag and Libona.
The job fairs gathered 13 participating employers offering 1,169 job vacancies in agribusiness, food processing, construction, and service industries.
A total of 676 displaced workers registered for the one-day activity, with 221 hired on the spot (HOTS). The top positions filled were harvester (81 HOTS), seed collector (64 HOTS), production worker (32 HOTS), laborer (28 HOTS), and assistant flockman (10 HOTS).
The simultaneous activities form part of DOLE Region 10’s immediate intervention package for displaced workers in Northern Mindanao, ensuring that they receive not only employment opportunities, but also social protection and livelihood support. This initiative is aligned with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. to expedite the delivery of employment assistance through convergent government efforts.
Aside from employment facilitation, the Regional Office, in coordination with the First Congressional District of Bukidnon and partner national government agencies, mounted a One-Stop Shop of Government Services, bringing frontline services directly to the workers.
A total of 1,018 job fair participants who registered for assistance under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) were profiled and validated during the activity.
Other affected workers secured Certificates of Involuntary Separation; availed labor advisory services; accessed psycho-social services and sustainable livelihood program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development; applied for Unemployment Insurance from the Social Security System (SSS); and processed pre-employment documents from Pag-IBIG Fund, SSS, PhilHealth, National Bureau of Investigation, and Philippine National Police. Overall, 761 workers were assisted by various agencies through the one-stop shop.
