Loman exits ONE Championship, rejoins BRAVE CF

Stephen Loman is officially taking his talents back to BRAVE Combat Federation.

This article’s author has obtained firm confirmation from a highly reliable source that the beloved Filipino mixed martial artist has signed an exclusive contract with the Bahrain-based outfit. The reunion comes several months after the expiration of his ONE Championship deal in August.

The development is a major win for BRAVE CF, which has been strengthening its roster throughout the year. The organization previously brought in former URCC bantamweight champion Drex Zamboanga, and Loman’s arrival continues that upward trend.

Loman’s addition is significant. During his stint with ONE, he established himself as a ranked contender in the bantamweight division, highlighting the value of his return to the BRAVE CF lineup.

For the 30-year-old, the move brings him back to familiar ground. He competed for BRAVE CF from 2016 to 2019 and went undefeated in six outings.

Moreover, he held the BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Title for a remarkable 1,179 days and recorded four successful defenses during that reign.

Loman joined ONE in 2021 and made an immediate impact. He authored notable victories over former divisional king Bibiano Fernandes, Shoko Sato, and Yusup Saadulaev, which elevated him to the No. 2 spot in the rankings.

His most recent bout took place in September 2023 when he dropped a competitive unanimous decision to UFC veteran and ex-ONE bantamweight titleholder John Lineker.

Loman has been absent from action since that defeat, spending the past two years in limbo and publicly calling on ONE this past September to release him, voicing his frustration over his prolonged inactivity.

The Lions Nation MMA representative now has the opportunity to restart his career with the promotion that helped launch him onto the international stage.

With the bantamweight throne currently occupied by Serbia’s Borislav Nikolic, Loman sets his sights on reclaiming the seat of power that once belonged to him.
