Financial services company strengthens leadership pipeline with values-driven programs

Capital One Philippines continues to invest in developing its leaders through a values-driven system that prepares associates for future challenges.

Recognized as a Great Place to Work for three consecutive years, ranked 4th in the IT-BPM sector on this year’s Philippines’ Best Workplaces list, and debuting on Asia’s Best Workplaces 2025, the company’s accolades reflect its people-centric culture and commitment to meaningful, purpose-led work.

By prioritizing career growth, internal mobility, and well-being, Capital One equips employees for leadership roles even before promotion. Its eight-week blended learning program for high-potential associates has graduated 124 participants, 90 percent of whom were promoted to Unit Manager. Every new leader completes essential coaching and management training within their first 30 days.

“True leadership requires a support system to be effective. We develop our associates in a way that ensures they’re aligned with our mission, values, and purpose, and more importantly, ready for the new responsibilities that come with a new role,” said head of human resources Phil Bravo.

Senior leaders attest to the impact of these programs. Senior unit manager Rizz Sanglay noted that the initiatives help associates find purpose through work that makes a difference, while senior department manager Javi Rey emphasized that leadership programs foster authentic connections, engagement, and a sense of belonging, strengthening both teams and communities.

“We design every experience to connect our associates in authentic ways. These moments spark conversations and strengthen bonds. It’s how we create not just a great place to work, but a place where people feel inspired to engage beyond their familiar circles,” Rey said.
