From Calgary to Manila, from Winnipeg to New York, from Edmonton to Manila, and all the way to Paris, Spotlight Couronne International (SCI) is conquering the fashion capitals one runway at a time.
This year is particularly successful for the dynamic company, which was founded a decade ago by Filipino-Canadians Alvin Masangkay Francia and Limuel Hayag Vilela, with the 9th Calgary International Fashion and Arts Week (CIFAW) in Manila, shows at New York and Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2026, and various kids and teens fashion shows across Canada.
To unite all its milestone events under one dazzling celebration, another signature brand under the SCI umbrella will be unveiled— the very first “Fashion Gala Canada 2025.” The glittering evening will be held on November 30, 2025 at Fairmont Hotel in Calgary.
“The gala will feature the inspiring SCI models who have completed the organization’s Personality Development and Modeling Programs,” reveal Vilela and Francia. “They will take the stage together as their year-end runway finale.”
Vilela and Francia tirelessly discover and transform kids and teens models from Calgary International Fashion & Arts Week, Calgary Kids Fashion Week, Edmonton Kids Fashion Week, and Winnipeg Kids Fashion Week.
Global Domination
“It’s more than the runway. They’re about real stories of struggle, growth, and transformation. For young dreamers, each step is a reminder that even through setbacks and challenges, strength and passion can carry them forward,” says Francia.
On July 26 and 27, SCI was the highlight of a weekend of fashion, art, and luxury at the Manila Marriott Hotel as it hosted the “Marriott Moments A-Fair Luxuriant Expo and the 9th Calgary International Fashion & Arts Week (CIFAW).”
As the launch of CIFAW’s Philippine Fashion Weekend, with the theme “Home,” the show highlighted Filipino heritage and identity through collections by homegrown talents who have also made names abroad such as Jaki Peñalosa, John C. Ablaza, Maliyah Abenir, Odelon Simpao and Kenny Ladaga, as well as the SCI Fashion Brand.
On September 13, SCI PH Canada showed its Spring/Summer 2026 collection at New York Fashion Week at The Edison Ballroom, Times Square, New York City, with the theme, “Unbreakable Moments.”
On October 3, 2025, SCI PH Canada presented “Amour de Soi” during Paris Fashion Week at the American Cathedral in Paris.
World-Class Creativity
The gala is more than an evening of elegance and glamour, but a showcase of world-class creativity takes centerstage and passion. The highlight of the festivities will be a showcase of the capsule collections from world-class designers such as John Ablaza, Maliah Abiner, Jaki Peñalosa, Odelon Simpao, Kenny Ladaga and the SCI PH Fashion Brand.
SCI PH fashion brand will also present its collection of distinct and modern occasionwear for both men and women — from bridal and pageant gowns to statement menswear and contemporary formalwear.
As they conquer the catwalk and retail landscape one fashion week at a time, SCI PH remains optimistic of their brand’s potential, as well as that of their fellow Filipino counterparts who aim for the global spotlight,
“We envision a Philippine fashion industry that is globally respected yet deeply rooted, where regional talents are uplifted, artisans are supported, and young designers are given real platforms to thrive. We hope to see more collaboration over competition — and more Filipino creatives leading on global runways,” Vilela says.
Francia reinforces the sentiment: “Also, that we stop playing catch-up and start leading. Filipino design has soul and global appeal. I dream of more government-backed platforms, design incubators, and fashion tourism hubs — imagine T’nalak meets couture on global stages.”
The Future Unfolds
The story of SCI as a company is far from over — it’s only evolving. As it steps into 2026, the SCI PH fashion brand continues to push the boundaries of creativity, expanding its global footprint with a debut at Milan Fashion Week and the International Fashion and Arts Weekend (IFAW) in Cebu. As CIFAW marks its tenth year, SCI celebrates not just a decade of design and dreams, but a movement that continues to redefine what it means to be proudly, unapologetically.
“In the future, we hope to expand our reach and open casting opportunities to new talents from the community. But for now, we remain deeply committed to nurturing the individuals who have grown with us — those who continue to carry the spirit of self-love, humility, and excellence that defines SCI. Our faith weaves the very fabric of our passion,” say Vilela and Francia.
