Newly crowned Miss Universe 2025 Fatima Bosch broke her silence on the wave of online hate she has received since winning the competition, saying the attacks will not break her because her “values and self-esteem are strong.”
On Tuesday, Nov. 25, Bosch took to her Instagram stories, saying she chose to speak after days of receiving negative comments, including profanity and death threats. Before releasing her message, Bosch shared screenshots of some of the messages from critics.
“What must be in a person’s heart to wish harm on someone they don’t even know? Thank God my values and self-esteem are strong, and this won’t break me,” Bosch wrote in Spanish.
The beauty queen also noted that while she is resilient, such verbal assaults can have serious effects on others.
“Today I want to raise my voice not as a beauty queen, but as a woman. A woman with dreams, preparation, and heart decided to stand up and fight for what she loves,“ she continued.
She added that the backlash “does not define” her and vowed to continue her work. “My victory is not a threat… I will not ask permission to shine,” she stated, promising to advocate for women facing the same treatment.
Bosch’s win has been overshadowed by controversy after musician Omar Harfouch, who claimed to resign as one of the judges, allegedly said that the results were rigged.
Miss Universe Organization president Raul Rocha has denied the accusations and signaled legal action against what he called an “opportunist” behind the claims.
