Filipino workers can expect more quality, productive, remunerative, and decent jobs as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) completed its regional review of the Labor and Employment Plan (LEP) 2023–2028, the Marcos Jr. administration’s roadmap for decent and productive employment for all Filipinos.
Three years after its official launch, the midterm review assessed the country’s progress in carrying out strategies under the plan, identified implementation gaps, and refined measures to ensure that DOLE’s programs and services remain responsive to the changing needs of workers, employers, and industries.
The consultations gathered representatives from labor, employers, government, and partner institutions to evaluate regional performances and update the LEP’s priorities and targets.
The midterm review will allow the DOLE to reflect on its achievements, identify areas for improvement, and ensure that its strategies truly respond to the realities faced by Filipino workers and enterprises.
Four LEP teams concluded their regional reviews across 15 regions in October, wrapping up the series in Northern Mindanao on November 10. The discussions centered on key priorities: creating more productive and sustainable jobs, promoting fair labor practices and workers’ rights, strengthening social protection, and maintaining industrial peace.
