The Tajikistan Agency of Social Insurance and Pensions (ASIP) visited the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to learn from the Philippines’ experience in social insurance, strengthen understanding of labor market governance, and explore potential cooperation on worker protection and employment services.
The activity served as an opportunity to present DOLE’s core policies and programs on social protection, labor standards enforcement, and employment facilitation, including initiatives on youth employability, public employment services, and labor market information systems.
Discussions also covered how digital tools such as the Labor Laws Compliance System-Management Information System support the promotion of safe and compliant workplaces.
The delegation was also presented with the DOLE’s Employees’ Compensation Program and its integration with the Social Security System in delivering comprehensive benefits for workers in both public and private sectors.
“I hope that we were able to provide the necessary relevant information and data that you needed with regard to DOLE policies, programs, and initiatives covering social protection,” Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns (BWSC) Director Leilani M. Reynoso said, on behalf of the Department.
“I hope in our exchange of ideas, we were able to share good practices. We also learned from the sharing you provided us, and hope that this area of collaboration and engagement with you will still continue,” she added.
Through the study visit, both sides reflected on good practices related to labor law implementation, employment facilitation, and inter-agency coordination, while identifying potential areas for collaboration and future engagements between DOLE and Tajikistan counterparts.
Tajikistan thanked the Department for the opportunity to learn its best practices. “Our aim is in the future to use these best practices to implement and further develop the system in Tajikistan,” ASIP Finance and Centralized Accounting Head Hokimjon Khojaev said.
This initiative forms part of the government’s ongoing efforts under the Marcos Jr. administration to strengthen international cooperation and promote knowledge exchange with global counterparts.
