PNB, PMFTC roll out QR code payments

Philippine National Bank (PNB) and PMFTC Inc. announced a partnership to implement QR Ph-enabled cashless payment technology across PMFTC’s nationwide sales operations.

The initiative will provide over 1,200 PMFTC salesmen with identification cards and lanyards featuring QR Ph codes. This will enable them to accept customer payments instantly through any mobile banking application or e-wallet.

The companies aim to modernize PMFTC’s collection process, reduce reliance on cash and boost operational efficiency.

PNB president and chief executive Edwin Bautista cited the move during the ceremonial signing at PNB’s head office. “This is a big step towards making field collections simpler safer and faster not just for the salesmen but for customers too,” Bautista said.

“We’re proud to work with PMFTC on this meaningful project,” he said.

PMFTC director for finance and planning Dominique Thollon said the collaboration demonstrates how technology can make work lighter and life easier. “And this is just the beginning of impactful and mutually beneficial partnership,” Thollon said.

Initial testing has been completed and the rollout is currently underway, according to both companies. PNB is also looking to expand the partnership by exploring additional services like disbursement and employee-focused solutions to further support PMFTC’s workforce.
