Four suspected drug pushers were arrested and P2.2 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Nangka, Marikina City, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported.
Acting on intelligence reports, the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Marikina City Police launched the sting on Manalo Street, resulting in the arrest and seizure of 631 packs of synthetic cannabinoids, known as “Tuklaw,” and high-grade marijuana valued at P12,000.
All seized items were turned over to the Eastern Police District Forensic Unit for laboratory testing. The suspects are under detention pending inquest proceedings for violating Republic Act 9165.
Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin, NCRPO regional director, lauded the operation, saying illegal drug activities “will not escape NCRPO’s reach” under enhanced police monitoring and community support.
