AbaCore’s income jumped 106% in nine months

AbaCore Capital Holdings Inc. said its consolidated net income soared 106 percent to P82.669 million in the first nine months of 2025, or P0.0202 per share, up from P40.348 million, or P0.0111 per share, in the same period last year.

The strong growth was attributed to P172.076 million in gains from the disposal of investment properties.

The holding company, which has interests in tourism real estate financial services and energy, saw its income from operations and other income, including its share in the net income of associates, rise 106 percent to P93.813 million from P45.609 million in the prior year.

AbaCore Capital chairman and president Antonio Victoriano Gregorio III said the company’s “strong performance for three quarters of 2025 reflects the company’s strategic focus on asset optimization and disciplined financial management.”

“We continue to strengthen our balance sheet while pursuing growth opportunities across our key sectors,” Gregorio said.

AbaCore Capital’s book value per share for the first nine months of 2025 reached P5.02, an increase of P0.68 from the same period last year. This remains significantly higher than the company’s current stock price, which is below P1.

Operational expenses went down by 11 percent year-on-year to P83.02 million from P93.80 million. The decline in expenses was led by lower professional and management fees as well as reduced employee benefits salaries wages and employee benefits following the demise of a senior officer and adjustments in government premiums and healthcare benefits.

The company distributed property and cash dividends amounting to P418.6 million from a June 2022 stock declaration to shareholders of record as of June 28. 2022.

A key development for the third quarter included the signing of a memorandum of agreement between AbaCore Capital subsidiary Simlong Energy Development Corp. (SEDC) and state-run Philippine National Oil Co. (PNOC) for the feasibility study of a wind power project at AbaCore’s ABA Energy Hub in Batangas City.
