TEAM Philippines made its presence felt in the global amateur golf scene, hauling 15 trophies from the 2025 World Amateur Golfers Championship (WAGC) World Finals and showcasing the Filipinos’ growing dominance on the world stage.
Competing against players from 39 countries, the Filipino contingent delivered one of its best performances in the tournament’s history, highlighted by multiple podium finishes in both individual and team divisions.
Leading the charge was Ronin Leviste, who emerged as Division 4 Champion, and Bayani Garcia, who placed 2nd Runner-Up in Division 1.
Together with Noel Isleta Yango, Jimmy Suelo, and Mikko Marasigan, they powered the country to a 1st Runner-Up overall team finish in the main WAGC event.
In the WAGI (World Amateur Golf Invitational) competition, Jordan Paige Ouano finished 1st Runner-Up in Division A, Aaron Sorbito placed 1st Runner-Up in Division C, and Ramon Besa claimed 2nd Runner-Up in Division E.
Ouano also shone in the Champion of Champions category, where she was crowned Ladies Champion. Other notable finishers were Noel Isleta Yango (Senior 1st Runner-Up), Roberto Umali (Super Senior Champion), and the tandem of Pablo Luis Garcia and Evangeline Bradley (Team 2nd Runner-Up).
WAGC Philippines hailed the team’s outstanding showing, calling it a “historic achievement” that highlights the strength and depth of Filipino amateur golf.”

The WAGC, considered the largest and most prestigious amateur golf tournament in the world, gathered top players from nearly 40 nations this year in Jeju’s premier golf courses.
