Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc. (AIC), the infrastructure arm of the Aboitiz Group, is marking its 10th anniversary in 2025 by recognizing the long-time employees whose dedication has driven its growth and impact across the Philippines.
The company, which builds and operates vital infrastructure like airports and water systems, highlighted these “trailblazers” through its internal “10 Years of AIC: Stories from Our Trailblazers” campaign, emphasizing a persistent culture of integrity, collaboration, and purpose.
The stories of employees reflect AIC’s commitment to building and connecting communities. Aines Librodo, senior assistant vice president for airport strategic partnerships, recounted her decade with the company, noting that AIC’s culture, stability and trust have been constant sources of inspiration.
She cited the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), operated by Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corp. (ACAC), winning Asia’s Best Airport for Airport and Destination Marketing in 2023 as a particularly proud moment.
The recognition was a testament to the team’s resilience after the pandemic and Typhoon Odette. MCIA, the country’s second-busiest gateway and largest international hub outside Metro Manila, is currently a Skytrax 4-Star Terminal.
In the water sector, Maria Clarissa Isla, regulatory planning and compliance manager at LIMA Water Corp., reflected on her six-year journey, emphasizing the company’s growth, family-like culture and the meaningful impact of its services. LIMA Water is the exclusive water and wastewater provider for Batangas’ LIMA Estate.
Isla’s proudest milestone was LIMA Water’s recognition as an Environmental Testing Laboratory in 2020 by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, achieved amid pandemic challenges.
Cecil Rose Yu, administration supervisor at Apo Agua Infrastructura Inc., noted purpose, resilience and gratitude in her three years with the company. Apo Agua, in partnership with the Davao City Water District, operates the Davao City Bulk Water Supply Project, which delivers 300 million liters of potable water per day to 1 million Davaoeños. Yu led the on-schedule and on-budget completion of Apo Agua’s new annex office, Project Balay, in Davao City.
For Percival Vincent Tan, vice president for external affairs, teamwork was crucial in securing the Laguindingan International Airport (LIA) project, AIC’s first airport public-private partnership (PPP). “It’s always a team effort here, which always has your back,” Tan said, underscoring the collaborative, ego-free nature of the team.
Glenn Agbayani Jr., AVP for structuring and regulatory affairs, said that navigating the regulatory changes for the Laguindingan and Bohol-Panglao International Airports was a significant test of the team’s adaptability and unity. The experience across shifting policy landscapes strengthened their shared purpose of creating growth-driving, community-uplifting infrastructure.
The AIC workforce embraces continuous learning and flexibility. Angel Rose Trocio, associate manager for human resources performance management and learning and development at ACAC, described her two and a half-year tenure as transformative, drawn by the complexity and quality of working at the country’s best airport.
Mariz Rivera, P&C senior manager, described her journey as “purpose-driven, challenging, and fulfilling,” citing the importance of staying open to learning and new challenges to advance individual and team impact.
