PLDT Enterprise, the corporate business unit of the Philippines’ largest integrated telecommunications company, has teamed up with Hong Kong-based global cloud communications platform Newbuy Group to deploy the Smart Messaging Suite, a telco-grade solution designed to deliver secure and reliable communication.
The collaboration will see Newbuy, through its aggregator brand TelcoSMS, gain access to a streamlined, high-capacity messaging platform from PLDT Enterprise.
The platform ensures that critical notifications, such as one-time passwords (OTPs) for securing access and payments and marketing SMS for promotions, reach end-users with a near 100-percent open rate. The high reliability is expected to reduce churn, boost customer trust, and lower operational costs for Newbuy’s small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) and e-commerce platform clients.
As part of the partnership, Newbuy is integrating Silent Authentication into its services through PLDT Enterprise.
The advanced, SIM-based verification feature strengthens user protection against emerging fraud schemes, going beyond traditional OTPs by enabling a frictionless verification process. The feature is also designed to align with regulatory requirements set by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the central bank of the Philippines. Darwin G. Amojelar
