EcoFlow launches home solar battery system in the Philippines

EcoFlow, a key player in eco-friendly energy solutions, has expanded its reach into the Southeast Asian home energy storage market with the launch of the EcoFlow PowerOcean Single-phase in the Philippines.

The new home solar battery system aims to provide Filipino households with reliable backup power, smart energy management and cost-saving efficiency in a nation facing some of the region’s highest electricity prices and frequent power outages.

The introduction of the PowerOcean addresses a significant market gap, as the Philippines’ solar market has largely focused on standalone panels, leading to underutilized generated power and limited economic returns for homeowners.

EcoFlow’s integrated solar-plus-storage solution is designed to meet the strong demand for systems that are reliable, easy to install and capable of powering an entire home, offering a path to greater energy independence.

The PowerOcean system is “Built to Save” through high-efficiency hardware and intelligent energy management. Its inverter supports up to 12 kW of photovoltaic (PV) input and allows a 95-percent depth of discharge, maximizing the use of stored energy.

An AI-driven time-of-use (TOU) scheduling system automatically manages charging, discharging and feeding energy back to the grid.

The smart control factors in real-time electricity prices, weather forecasts and historical usage, allowing the system to charge during off-peak hours and sell surplus energy when prices are high.

The company said the system provides daily and monthly cost forecasts with over 90-percent accuracy. In Europe, the PowerOcean has been credited with achieving up to 77.8-percent reduction in annual electricity bills for users.

“Built to Last” for reliability, the system is scalable, starting at 5 kWh and expandable to 10 kWh or 15 kWh with a plug-and-play design that integrates new and existing batteries.

It boasts a 0.67 C discharge rate, which EcoFlow says is 34-percent above the industry standard, allowing multiple high-load appliances to operate simultaneously.
