Philippine National Police acting chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., commended the Cebu police for its strategic use of drones to enhance their mobility and public safety operations in the aftermath of super typhoon “Tino.”
Nartatez was reacting to the Cebu cops’ efforts in Liloan town where they. launched a strategic aerial monitoring operation on Nov. 5 to address severe traffic congestion caused by post-typhoon activities.
Nartatez lauded the initiative, saying it reflected the PNP’s commitment to innovation and efficiency in crisis situations.
The drone-assisted surveillance provided real-time traffic monitoring, allowing authorities to quickly adjust traffic plans, clear obstructions, and facilitate the passage of emergency vehicles and relief convoys.
