Innovation, creativity and collaboration took center stage on Thursday as the National Innovation Council (NIC) recognized the country’s most outstanding innovators at the 2025 Presidential Filipinnovation Awards at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria in Quezon City.
Five exceptional innovators were named Presidential Filipinnovation Awardees of the Year for their groundbreaking solutions in food and agribusiness, learning and education and health and well-being.
The ceremony, organized by the Department of Economy, Planning and Development (DEPDev) through the NIC, honored Filipino individuals and enterprises that have successfully transformed ideas into impactful solutions for national development.
The five awardees, chosen from 15 finalists representing four regions, are Pili Seal from Pili AdheSeal, Inc. (Luzon); Palatak Palay Seeder from Farmwell Agricultural Machinery Manufacturing (Luzon); RezBin from RezBin Waste Technology Inc. (Visayas); Bambujett from Hamilton Agri Supply (Mindanao); and Ediphi from Ediphi Training Programs Inc. (National Capital Region).
Each awardee received a presidential medallion, plaque and trophy, along with a cash grant and post-competition support package amounting to a combined value of P3.5 million.
The comprehensive package includes mentoring and coaching, participation in international events, and opportunities to connect with potential investors to further advance their innovations.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin and DEPDev Secretary Arsenio Balisacan personally conferred the awards.
Balisacan commended the winners and finalists for showcasing the potential of Filipino ingenuity. “The work of our Filipinnovators demonstrates how creativity, expertise, and community insight can come together to build solutions that anticipate market needs while uplifting society,” he said.
Balisacan said these efforts are part of the broader implementation of the National Innovation Agenda and Strategy Document (NIASD) 2023-2032, which envisions a Smart and Innovative Philippines.
He stressed the need to shift to an innovation-driven economy due to rising global competition, climate risks, and rapid technological disruption.
The Presidential Filipinnovation Awards, institutionalized under Executive Order No. 99, series of 2025, is the country’s highest recognition for outstanding innovation, promoting a culture of innovation that empowers Filipino innovators in scaling solutions for national impact.
