The Philippine Embassy in Myanmar reported that it currently has no access to Filipinos trapped in a scam hub in Myawaddy town, near the Thai border, due to continued fighting between government troops and Karen rebels.
In a social media post on Tuesday, the Embassy stated that its personnel are closely monitoring the situation with the Myanmar authorities.
“Patuloy ang pagsubaybay ng Pasuguan sa sitwasyon at patuloy na nakikipag-ugnayan sa mga awtoridad ng Myanmar upang matiyak ang agaran at ligtas na pagpapauwi ng mga apektadong Pilipino,” the post read.
The Embassy advised Filipinos to rely only on its official communication channels for accurate information and assistance through the following hotlines: +959985210991, +959985210996, +959985210993, +959409883434, and +959985210998.

On October 30, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said the Philippine government is taking all necessary measures to ensure the safe return of the 14 Filipinos rescued from the Hexin scam hub.
The latest tally of Filipinos trapped in scam centers controlled by the Border Guard Force (BGF), also known as Karen National Army (KNA), in Myanmar has now reached 189.
