In her message, Robes stated that the decision to terminate the deal was part of her administration’s efforts to find proactive solutions for addressing the needs of residents and sustain progress in the city.

“I formally report to you that the joint venture agreement between the San Jose Water District and PrimeWater has been terminated… We will still go through processes and challenges while organizing new management for our water supply in the city, but rest assured that we will not stop until residents enjoy the continuous flow of water and relief,” she said.

Robes added that the city’s Water Task Force Tugon is providing daily rations of water to the most affected villages.

Likewise, other emergency measures in place include the use of intermediate bulk containers, repair of wells fitted with filtration systems, and the installation of solar-powered water systems.

“While the national government is facilitating a larger process to address the water crisis, we will remain responsive. What is important is that we are able to address people’s needs today,” Robes added.

Meanwhile, Robes also reported improvements at the Ospital ng Lungsod ng San Jose del Monte, ‘No Balance Billing Policy’ in the Hemodialysis Center, and establishment of a task force to strengthen the city’s readiness for a major earthquake.
