Operatives of the Holy Spirit Police Station 14 swiftly arrested four minors after a firearm discharge incident during an altercation late Saturday night, November 1, in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City.
Initial investigation showed that at around 11:40 p.m., police received a report from a concerned citizen about a group of minors involved in a commotion, during which one allegedly fired a gun. Officers immediately responded, but the minors fled upon seeing them.
Through coordination with barangay officials and CCTV footage review, authorities confirmed that one of the minors fired a handgun. A pursuit operation led to the arrest of four Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL).
One of the minors later surrendered a checkered sling bag containing a .45 caliber pistol, a magazine with six live rounds, and a fired cartridge case of the same caliber. The weapon was confirmed to have been used in the altercation.
The minors will face charges before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office for alarm and scandal under Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code, while one will also be charged for violating Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. QCPD chief Col. Randy Glenn Silvio urged parents to monitor their children, emphasizing the police’s commitment to public safety during the Undas season.
