National Housing Expo 2025 highlights the Government’s drive for affordable homes

Aspiring homeowners gathered at the World Trade Center in Pasay City for the two-day National Housing Expo 2025, organized by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) in collaboration with the Pag-IBIG Fund, held from October 23 to 24.

According to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., many Filipinos still can’t afford to buy a home.  This is why the government is still expanding its initiatives to ensure that everyone has safe, decent, and permanent housing.

The event gathered key government shelter agencies and prominent private developers to showcase affordable and sustainable housing options available for Filipino families.  It was in line with the administration’s ongoing efforts under the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program to address the country’s housing backlog.

‘’Sa pagtutulungan natin, mas mapapabilis ang pagdating ng araw na ang bawat Pilipino ay may sariling tahanan mamahalin at maipagmamalaki,’’ says President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene C. Acosta shared that the event featured more than 100,000 brand-new housing units from the top 50 developers in the country.  All of these homes were available under the Pag-IBIG Housing Loan program.  She added that more than 30,000 Pag-IBIG Acquired Assets were offered at discounts of up to 40%, providing people with many affordable home options.

Visitors could also take advantage of Pag-IBIG’s exclusive services, such as a 4.5 percent annual interest rate on housing loans worth up to ₱1.8 million.  This offer was only available to the first 10,000 local workers and 1,000 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

In addition, members who wanted to make home improvements could apply for the Home Improvement Loan Program, which provides up to ₱300,000 for repairs and renovations.  The Pag-IBIG Fund’s official website made similar services and loan applications available to people who couldn’t go to the expo in person.

During the two-day event, people looked at model units, learned about new financing options, and talked directly with developers and government representatives.  There were also forums at the expo on housing initiatives, new construction methods, and ways to be more environmentally friendly, meant to support the government’s long-term housing plan.

The National Housing Expo 2025 was an event to get information and an indicator of how the public and private sectors might work together to meet the country’s housing needs.
