Filipino-American pop star Olivia Rodrigo is hoping to come back to the Philippines next year—this time, for a proper vacation.
In an interview with Elle magazine, the Grammy-winning singer reflected on her 2024 homecoming for her “Guts” World Tour stop at the Philippine Arena, calling the experience both emotional and inspiring.
“That trip was so special,” she said. “It was really cool to get to play for this city.”
Olivia shared that her visit, where she donated all proceeds to an organization supporting women’s healthcare in the country, deepened her connection to her Filipino roots.
“I was worried if they’d accept me as Filipino… and they did. It really meant so much to me,” she said.
The “Drivers License” hitmaker added that she plans to explore the islands and beaches on her next visit.
“I went to Manila, but I really want to go to some of the islands next year and swim in the beautiful oceans,” she said.
