Motorcycle Sales Accelerate in September, Marking 21.2% Year-on-Year Growth

According to the Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association, Inc. (MDPPA), a total of 171,155 motorcycle units were sold nationwide throughout the month of September, representing a substantial 21.2% increase compared to the 141,202 units sold in the same month, last year.

The momentum is evident in the year-to-date figures as well. Total sales from January to September 2025 have reached 1,398,315 units, a 12.8 percent growth over the 1,239,258 units sold during the same nine-month period last year.

Industry leaders attribute the sustained growth to the motorcycle’s essential role as a practical and affordable mode of transport for Filipino commuters.

In terms of regional demand, Luzon continues to dominate the market, accounting for 56 percent of September’s total sales with 95,712 units. The Visayas and Mindanao regions each contributed 22 percent of the total, with 37,675 and 37,768 units sold, respectively, underscoring strong and consistent demand across all major geographical areas.

With the year entering its final quarter, the MDPPA remains optimistic about the industry’s prospects.

“As 2025 enters its final quarter, all signs point to a strong finish for the motorcycle industry as it continues to be a vital part of the country’s transportation landscape,” stated Engr. Alexander A. Cumpas, MDPPA President.
