The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday afternoon reported that Tropical Storm “Ramil” (international name: Fengshen) had slightly weakened over the coastal waters of Northern Samar.
“Ramil is now starting to remain almost stationary off the coast of Northern Samar and will likely do so in the next several hours. Afterward, RAMIL is forecast to move generally west-northwestward or northwestward,” PAGASA said in its 11 a.m. tropical cyclone bulletin.
According to the state weather bureau, Ramil was last estimated over the coastal waters of Laoang, Northern Samar.
Moving westward at 25 kilometers per hour (kph), the tropical storm now had maximum sustained winds of 65 kph and gusts of up to 90 kph.
Its center may make landfall over Catanduanes this afternoon or evening, as well as over Camarines Sur this evening or early morning tomorrow.
Furthermore, a slightly southward shift in the forecast track will result in a landfall over Albay or Sorsogon this afternoon or evening.
