Ten of the Philippines’ finest golfers are set to showcase their talent and national pride against a star-studded international field at the inaugural International Series Philippines presented by BingoPlus, happening from October 23 to 26 at the Sta. Elena Golf Club.
Leading the home charge is Miguel Tabuena, a three-time Asian Tour champion, who will test his mettle against some of the sport’s biggest names — including former world No. 1 Dustin Johnson, 2011 Masters champion Charl Schwartzel, and 2010 Open champion Louis Oosthuizen.
The 31-year-old Tabuena, who placed 7th and 2nd in the 2024 and 2023 Asian Tour Order of Merit, respectively, remains one of Asia’s most consistent contenders. This season, he has recorded two top-five finishes and a strong T11 performance at the Jakarta International Championship, signaling that he’s in fine form ahead of the home leg.
Also in promising shape is Justin Quiban, who continues to build momentum on the Asian Tour. After achieving a career-best 54th place on the Order of Merit last year, Quiban opened his 2025 campaign with a top-20 finish at the Smart Infinity Philippine Open and a T10 result at the high-profile International Series India presented by DLF.
“It’s pretty exciting to be back home for The International Series, though a bit nerve-wracking with many friends coming to support,” Quiban said. “I play at Sta. Elena quite often when I’m home, so it feels familiar. Having big names like Dustin Johnson in the field will definitely draw more fans to come out and support local players — it’s going to be great for Philippine golf. It’s been a while since the Asian Tour returned here, and I’m excited to see how my game stacks up against the best.”
Joining Tabuena and Quiban are Sean Ramos, Aidric Chan, Carl Jano Corpus, Angelo Que, Keanu Jahns, Rupert Zaragosa, Clyde Mondilla, and Perry Bucay — a dynamic mix of veterans, rising stars, and homegrown prospects determined to make the nation proud.
Rising star Sean Ramos, who earned his Asian Tour card last year, has been impressive on The International Series, placing T22 in Morocco and T19 in Jakarta in recent starts.
“It’s really exciting — probably the biggest golf event ever held in the Philippines,” Ramos shared. “To be able to play in it, and to do so on home soil, feels very special. I’ve been practicing at Sta. Elena over the past few weeks to get familiar with the course and the greens. It’s quite an exclusive club, so it’s great that we’ve had the chance to prepare there ahead of the event. Having stars like Dustin Johnson in the field makes it even more inspiring — DJ has always been one of my biggest idols.”
Adding youthful flair to the field are cousins Aidric Chan and Carl Jano Corpus, two of the country’s brightest young prospects. Both qualified through the Asian Development Tour (ADT), where they currently rank second and third on the Order of Merit, respectively. They each notched breakthrough victories in back-to-back ADT events in Morocco earlier this season, underlining their potential to shine on the bigger stage.
Veteran campaigners Angelo Que, Keanu Jahns, and Rupert Zaragosa secured their places via the Philippine Golf Tour Order of Merit, while Perry Bucay, the nation’s top-ranked amateur on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), is set to make his International Series debut.
Completing the lineup is Clyde Mondilla, who received a special invitation from presenting partner BingoPlus as part of its commitment to support the growth of local golf. A four-time winner on the Philippine Golf Tour, Mondilla remains one of the country’s most consistent and respected professionals.
One final tournament slot remains open and will be decided through the ADT Players Championship presented by The R&A, running from October 16–19, offering one last opportunity for hopefuls to qualify for one of the region’s premier golf events.
The International Series Philippines presented by BingoPlus is part of the nine elevated events on this season’s Asian Tour schedule, offering a direct pathway for players into LIV Golf through the season-long International Series Rankings.
Beyond world-class golf, the four-day event will feature an immersive festival experience with headline concerts, live music, gourmet dining, and interactive fan activities throughout the week. Spectators can enjoy free entry on Thursday and Friday, making it an ideal opportunity for fans to witness top-tier golf and entertainment in one venue.
