Century Pacific acquires Roxas Sigma Agriventures coconut plant for $45-million expansion

Century Pacific Food Inc. is expanding its coconut processing operations with the $45-million acquisition and expansion of a fully integrated facility in Tupi, South Cotabato from Roxas Sigma Agriventures Inc. (RSAI).

Century Pacific said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange Thursday the investment, made through wholly-owned subsidiary Coco Harvest Inc. (CHI), covers both the purchase and planned upgrades of the plant.

This marks Century Pacific’s third coconut processing facility in the country. The facility produces coconut cream, coconut milk, virgin coconut oil and coconut water concentrate.

The acquisition enhances Century Pacific’s capability to serve both domestic and export markets with a broader product range and improved efficiency.

Planned upgrades aim to add new product lines and further increase production capacity. The investment will be funded through internally generated cash flows.

“This acquisition is a milestone for our coconut business and a testament to our commitment to inclusive growth,” said Noel Tempongko Jr., vice president and general manager of Century Pacific’s OEM Coconut Exports.

“By expanding our capacity in coconuts, we not only enhance our competitiveness in the global coconut industry but also create meaningful economic opportunities for local communities in Mindanao,” said Tempongko.

The new facility will support about 800 manufacturing jobs in Mindanao.

Roxas Sigma Agriventures is majority owned by Roxas and Co. Inc. (RCI).

RCI said in a separate disclosure the transaction is in line with its plans to reduce debt and focus efforts on developing its landholdings in Nasugbu, Batangas.

Century Pacific entered the coconut segment in 2012 as a manufacturer of coconut water for OEM exports.

In 2019, the company launched a branded coconut product line for the Philippine market. In 2025, Century Pacific also renewed its long-term manufacturing agreement with The Vita Coco Company Inc., a global leader in coconut water.

The five-year deal, set to begin in January 2026, is valued at about P14 billion.
